Valentine's Day is a great money maker for industries that produce gifts, flowers, and cards. But, for those of us develop software -- or manufacture auto parts or industrial equipment it's just another day.
Holidays at the office can make for a fun and inviting atmosphere. Valentine's Day, however, is usually just another day at the office. We think of it as a time to spend with our significant other or our best pals. I wanted to send a message of "spreading love" this V-Day so I started to think of office-friendly ways we could do that.
Office-friendly ways to "spread love"
Give someone a hand-written card or note Is there someone that has been working extra hard, but maybe their work goes un-noticed or is un-appreciated? Writing them a hand written note or card letting them know that someone notices can go a long way!
Call someone that you haven't worked with lately Maybe you are on a different team or project and there are people that you haven't spoken to recently. Pick up the phone and call or text them to let them know you are thinking of them.
Lunch There are so many ways you can do lunch. Invite a co-worker to lunch. If you are an organizational leader, order lunch for everyone. You could always do a pot-luck (well, maybe not this year if you didn't already plan it!)
Kudos If your company has an internal recognition program, use it! Similar to the hand-written note, this can really lift someone up. LinkedIn also has a feature to recognize someone. Here is one of my favorites - a good ole high five!
Treats They aren't just for kids! If your workplace is anything like mine, we love a good snack! Cookies, candy, or even some fruit.
Be sure spread the love with us at Online Computing! Whether you use MasterTools ERP software or not, we would love to hear from you!
